Meet Stacy Livingstone-Hoyte

Next up in our ‘Meet the Experts’ series is our Financial Guide, Stacy Livingstone-Hoyte, Accredited Financial Counselor, AFC®, Financial Fitness Coach, FFC®, and Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor, CRPC®. Stacy is originally from Guyana, South America. She has spent a good portion of her “American Life” in Miami, Florida, and calls Miami her American hometown. She currently lives in Virginia and has worked for Your Money Line since 2022.

Q: What got you interested in personal finance and coaching?

A: Pure happenstance and being fascinated by the multifaceted realm of personal finance. I wanted to find a “good job” and stumbled into personal finance on the brokerage side of things. Some of that work was not for me and I discovered that I am best suited to working with everyday folks.

Q: Do you have any pets?

A: I have lots of plants! Do those count?

Q: What do you love about being a Financial Guide?

A: I get to be an ally and thinking partner with people and celebrate any forward movement they make towards the outcome they long for.

Q: What’s your favorite financial topic to discuss/help people with?

A: I’ve always found this profoundly difficult to answer as each money touches every area of our lives. Our overall well-being is wrapped up in it. I enjoy discussing financial well-being and life insurance of all things.

Q: If you gave a 10min Ted Talk today what would it be about?

A: Making Space for Everyone’s Story would be the title and it would be a call to remember that life is short and we can usually meet someone halfway in this short journey (not always though).

Q: What is your biggest win as a Financial Guide so far?

A: Being part of a client’s transformation; a complete mind and behavior in how they experience money. Seeing sustainable changes in clients who didn’t think there was any hope for them to be at peace with their money. My client said “I couldn’t stand budgeting and now I can get enough of it, you help keep me going”

Q: Share a moment with a participant that impacted you.

A: “Thanks for listening, I just needed to say that out loud.” Sometimes folks just need a moment to share their thoughts safely.

Q: What’s a hobby that brings you joy?

A: I love painting houses/home improvement and doodling in Illustrator. I’m an amateur at both but love each one!
